Our history

The Faculty of Commerce, Mansoura University, was established approximately 52 years ago pursuant to the decision of the Deputy Prime Minister for Culture and Information No. 184 of 1973. Study commenced in the academic year 1973/1974.

A teaching branch was opened in Damietta in 1985, which later became a branch of the Faculty in 1988, until it gained independence and became one of the faculties of the university’s Damietta branch in the academic year 2006/2007. Open education studies began on January 27, 2007.

While the Faculty initially relied on seconded staff members from other universities, it now includes 281 faculty members in addition to teaching assistants. It currently comprises four academic departments: Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, and Statistics & Insurance, after previously being limited to only three departments. The number of administrative staff has also increased significantly, from 30 administrators across four departments to 227, performing a wide range of administrative, financial, technical, and legal functions.

The Faculty has continued to develop, with the establishment of an English-language study division under Ministerial Decree No. 375 dated March 31, 1998. The Professional Master of Business Administration (MBA) program was introduced by Ministerial Decree No. 1014 dated April 17, 2012, followed by the Professional Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) under Ministerial Decree No. 5827 dated December 2, 2017.

In addition, the Finance and Economics credit-hour program was introduced starting from the academic year 2019/2020, with an English-language track launched in the academic year 2023/2024.

The number of graduates for the academic year 2024/2025 reached 4,916 at the undergraduate level and 1,624 at the postgraduate level.

Over the years, the Faculty has graduated tens of thousands of outstanding young individuals who have consistently excelled across various fields.
